Hi! My name is José Miguel Fernandes.

• I’m a technology driven person with a passion for sustainability and a maker / DIY
movement, looking for complex problems that can be solved with methodologically
simple solutions. What I like the most in Design is the variety of work, each project is
a whole new education process due to the research component.

• After completing my bachelor’s degree (2016) in Product Design at the College of Fine-Arts of the University of Lisbon, which had an increased focus on the development of physical products, I enrolled in a Post Graduation in Design Thinking and Prototyping at IADE (2017) in order to hone my skills in regards to methodology Researching, Interviewing, Mapping and Shadowing

• A year later I started studying at IED Madrid's Master of Design and Innovation, Product Design Labs (2018), a project based master's degree with real world clients
where I had the opportunity to work in unique briefings.

• Afterwards, I spent two years (2019-2021) at a product design start-up located in the northern region of Madrid, whose objective was to permeate the luxury accessory
market. Initially developing 3D models, product  visualizations and creating prototypes using both FDM and SLA 3D printing technologies. Later on transitioned towards the digital end as a major contributor to the UX & UI research for our website and App.

 

• Initially working at Genpact as a Content Reviewer since November 2021, applying the correct policies to the content provided to the platform and afterwards throughout the majority of 2024 as a Client Services Specialist.

• Currently working as a Draftsman / Project Designer, developing metal structures in Solidworks with Weldments and Sheetmetal.
