José Miguel Fernandes, 27 year-old Portuguese, born and raised in Lisbon.

After completing my bachelor’s degree (2016) in Product Design at the Faculty of Fine-Arts, University of Lisbon, I enrolled in a Post Graduation in Design Thinking and Prototyping at IADE (2017). A year later I started studying at IED Madrid's Master of Design and Innovation (2018).

 

Afterwards, I spent two year at a product design start-up located in the northern region of Madrid, whose objective was to permeate the luxury accessory market. Researching and using desing methodologies. Developing 3D models and product visualizations. Creating prototypes using both FDM and SLA 3D printing technologies.

What I like the most in Design is the variety of work, each project is a whole new education because of the research component.

I value being able to apply user centred methodologies, striving for qualitative research results, keeping a close and constant contact with users in every stage of the process, from the immersion up until testing.

I’m a technology driven person with a passion for sustainability and a maker / DIY movement, looking for complex problems that can be solved with methodologically simple solutions.
