Longboard

Project Description

This is an optional project whose purpose was to research new fabrication methods. The main objective was to learn more about CNC milling as well as less industrial production methods for the grip.

Process Followed

Rectangular plywood boards were CNC milled in order to cut and engrave.

A mix of varnish and river sand was used instead of a convential sandpaper sheet to provide adherence.

Product Outcome

FlowER and Aumboard. The low production volumes allowed me to provide different feature to each board. FlowER is larger, heavier, making it possible for two people to ride it simultaneously. Aumboard is smaller, lighter, thinner and therefore enhancing portability.
